Regina Public Schools will host a Special Electors’ Meeting on Feb. 28, after receiving a petition requesting a meeting. The meeting will be an open democratic forum for any and all education issues people want to raise, as well community issues that intersect with public education.
The meeting came about after Regina Public decided to cancel its annual meeting, which is allowed since sweeping changes to the Education Act cancelled and weakened the public’s right to input into education decisions.
Concerned residents collected the required 25 signatures to impel the board to host a meeting.
The agenda will include “whatever the electors want to bring forward,” director of education Greg Enion told the Leader-Post.
The meeting will be at 7 pm, Wed., Feb. 28 at the School Division office, 1600-4th Ave.
