Proposals for a public artwork made from Connaught School’s brick will be on display at the Connaught Library Branch this Tuesday evening, as part of the Cathedral Village Arts Festival. Last November, some 25 volunteers descended on the Regina City Landfill after learning almost all of the historic school building had been sent there to be crushed and used for roadwork inside the landfill. Four pallets of brick, and a few pieces of hand-carved Indiana limestone, as well as pieces of marble and terrazzo, were rescued. Masonry expert Cliff Kobelsky will speak at the event, which begins at 7 p.m.
