On Monday, February 9 at 1:00 pm, concerned citizens representing the views of over 2,000 people from nearly 100 Saskatchewan communities will present signed petitions to a representative of the Ministry of Education in the Rotunda of the Saskatchewan Legislature. The petition was created by a coalition of four peace groups in Saskatoon and Regina. The petition calls on the province to reverse the plan and, instead, implement a program to educate students about the importance of global peace and non-violent conflict resolution. Last week, Regina Catholic school electors passed a motion to this effect at their annual meeting.
