BC teachers are celebrating a Supreme Court ruling that will force their school boards to return to pre-2002 class sizes. The teachers took the matter to court after the provincial government stripped class size limits from the teachers’ collective agreement, and ruled that teachers could no include class size among working conditions they could bargain. Some 3,500 teaching positions were cut when classes were enlarged, which will now need to be replaced.
